What the result means
Find the real discount across both items when the second or lower-priced item is reduced.
Example
If two $10 items qualify for 50% off the second item, the regular total is $20 and you pay $15. That is 25% off overall.
How it works
Savings = discounted item price × discount rate
Effective discount = savings ÷ regular two-item total × 100
A common mistake
“Second item 50% off” does not mean 50% off the full basket. For two equal-priced items, it works out to 25% off overall.
